Andreas Deja is a Polish-born German-American character animator most noted for his work at Walt Disney Animation Studios. Deja's work includes serving as supervising animator on characters in several Disney animated films, including King Triton and Vanessa in The Little Mermaid, Gaston in Beauty and the Beast, Jafar in Aladdin, and Scar in The Lion King, the titular character in Hercules, Lilo Pelekai in Lilo & Stitch, Mama Odie and Juju in The Princess and the Frog, and Tigger in Winnie the Pooh. He won the Annie Award’s lifetime achievement award, the Winsor McCay Award, and was inducted by the Disney company in 2015 as a “Disney Legend”. Deja recently animated and directed the hand-drawn, award-winning short Mushka.
