Chris Brock lives with his wife in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville. He recently moved from Los Angeles to be near his two adult sons. He and his wife enjoy spending time with his kids and his two granddaughters.
He currently works as a Visual Development Artist on a new and undisclosed project at DreamWorks Animation. He recently finished visual development on the critically acclaimed film, "The Wild Robot," released this past September. Previously, he art directed “Boss Baby 2”. This position afforded Chris the opportunity to guide the creative process through all departments, from early visual concepts to final lighting. He also worked as a Visual Development Artist on DreamWorks film "Abominable". Since 2006, as a Visual Development Artist, Chris has been instrumental in the design and look of many of DreamWorks films such as "Kung Fu Panda" films 1,2 and 3 and 4, "Boss Baby", "Monsters Vs. Aliens", and "Flushed Away". These projects presented him with the opportunity to design locations, illustrate production paintings and color keys, and design props. He started his career as a traditional background artist for both feature and television animation, where he worked on many projects at Warner Brothers Feature Animation, DreamWorks Animation, Disneytoon Studios, and Cartoon Network. Such projects included "The Iron Giant," "The Road to El Dorado," "Sinbad," and "Samurai Jack," to name a few (for complete filmography, visit his online portfolio at chrisbrockart.com). He is proficient as a digital artist in using Photoshop, Maya, and traditional media.
