Matthew O'Callaghan is a renowned animator, storyboard artist, and director. He was born in Chicago and attended the Character Animation Program at CalArts. He began his career at Disney, working on well-known films such as The Little Mermaid, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and The Great Mouse Detective.
His directorial debut was the theatrical animated short The Itsy Bitsy Spider, featuring Jim Carrey, which he later developed into a TV series for Paramount. O'Callaghan also collaborated with comedian Louie Anderson to create the award-winning TV series Life with Louie for Fox.
Additionally, O’Callaghan directed Universal's Curious George, Disney’s Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas, Sony's Open Season 2, theatrical 3D Looney Tunes shorts for Warner Bros., YouTube Tangled shorts for Disney, as well as episodes of the Mickey Mouse Funhouse series. He also served as an executive producer for the Bentkey series Chip Chilla.
