MTSU’s Department of Media Arts is proud to participate in the new "Animation Y'all Expo” in Nashville, showcasing students' talents from Tennessee’s #1 ranked animation program, as recognized by Animation Career Review in 2024. Our program empowers students to master a wide range of skills in 2D and 3D animation, motion graphics, and visual effects. With a curriculum that bridges foundational art techniques and advanced digital tools used by major studios, graduates are prepared for diverse careers in film, television, video games, commercial production, and more. State-of-the-art resources—including a $1 million LED Volume with three motion-tracked cameras, 24/7 studio access, and an extensive equipment checkout system—ensure students receive hands-on training and the support they need to thrive. Through MT IMAGINE Animation Studio, our students gain real-world experience and the chance to work with external clients on professional projects. As we continue to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation with virtual reality, 3D projection mapping, and immersive media, MTSU’s animation program remains at the forefront, preparing students not only for today’s media landscape but for the future of storytelling.
